Your Name Is My Name is a journey through time and consciousness, to Cameroon’s memories, to chapters of honey and tears.
It follows Diobe Nzume Ntungwe, a young Bakossi man whose name means, “God gives the warrior the scepter of Peace.” Peace, though, eludes him throughout this tale as he has to contend with a nation in civil strife. That he is a secret rebel and is in love with his brother’s wife, a woman known as ‘the Beloved,’ further complicates his existence. His arc throughout the page represents the burnishing of one’s soul via circumstance and choice. These pages chronicle that evolution on the waves of a nation’s memory.
This book is for the children of Africa on the continent and in the diaspora, for the inheritors of resistance all over the world, and for those who dream of a better tomorrow for all, irrespective of race, sex, gender, or creed. It is also for those who believe in freedom and justice; optimistic sensualists; bold romantics; humanists; empaths; and literary ambassadors, vectors of literature, hope, and great ideas.
